The Foundation has 3 programs, each of them consisting of one or more projects that includes the beneficiaries of the Foundations work.
Our Philosophy:: Christian existentialism
We have adopted this philosophy because we work with people living in very difficult situations; we believe in their potential, in their resilience and in the sense that they can find in their lives. They have the power to make positive changes, fundamental adjustments to change their habit and to take full responsibility over their own lives. We condemn all forms of violence, discrimination and injustice. We promote solidarity, respect, justice, love, freedom and personal dignity.
Our Focus: Integrad and preventative.
Our focus is comprehensive, because we believe taht a person is a bio-psycho-social-spiritual and ecological being (J. Alvarez Blanco): a factual being to the point of transcendence. We take on the holistic approach that searches for the widest possible understanding of human beings and the universe, and claim that this understanding creates a global transformation in body, mind and soul.
Our focus is preventative, working with people living at risk (universal and selective prevention) as well as with people on the streets who present different problems (selective prevention aimed at damage control.)
To establish a legal non-profit, institution, whose representative and transparent structure allows us to create a fundamental focus regarding the attention to those at high risk, damaging circumstances and those on the streets.
To develop programs and projects based on care and prevention for children, teenagers, young adults and families who find themselves exposed to high risk on the streets. To improve their quality of life and level of family integration, through a multi-level and interdisciplinary approach.
Children, teenagers, young adults and families who are living on the streets, leading a life of neglect, and taking drugs, most notably “clefa” (a strong glue used to fix shoes) as well as minors who are subject to commercial sexual violence. Some of our beneficiaries work, but the majority seeks survival through stealing, begging and/or prostitution. Children and families who no longer live on the streets continue their process of change. The sons and daughters of couples or single mothers who have formerly live on the streets now wish to change their lives.
Children, teenagers, youth and families in positions of high risk, living in conditions of extreme poverty. Many leave school or college because of family problems, and are taken into gangs, or make the decision to live on the streets, entering into problems such as internet addiction and drug consumption etc.
General objective: To improve the living conditions of children, teenagers, young adults and families who find themselves at risk, in dangerous situations and on the streets in Cochabamba., through the execution of projects which focus on defending their rights and education, their mental health and the provision of immediate intervention, prevention and specialized support, which will reduce the cases and the associated risks.
Specific objectives: to develop plans and programs aimed at the reduction of people suffering from infringement upon their rights, to reduce the number of people living on the streets, to reduce the risk of neglect for children, teenagers, young adults and families, the risk of drug addiction, street gangs, school dropouts etc. To contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of those who take part in our projects.
